Making a Will

In the Book of Common Prayer we are admonished to make a Will. To die without leaving a will causes unnecessary complications and hardship to the bereft

The Church encourages people to make a Will for reasons of good personal financial management, pastoral care and  the teaching of Christian stewardship.

Legacies can make a vital difference to a parish's local mission and ministry, whether used for additional staffing or to improve church buildings and facilities.

A legacy should not be restrictive in purpose. It is best to leave a legacy to, for example:-

'The Vicar and Churchwardens of All Saints Church, Daresbury for the general purposes of the Parish.'

Circumstances change over the years so it may not always be possible to fulfil specific donor requests. The Parochial Church Council will always discuss with executors the most appropriate use of a legacy in the light of current projects and the donor's known areas of interest in the church (e.g. children, youth, music, buildings)
